The Tea tree oil (Melaleuca alternifolia) is a liquid substance obtained by distillation from the leaves and twigs of the Australian tea tree or from other tea tree species.
The Australian aborigines used a tea tree oil extract for skin infections, colds, gum inflammations or against insect bites. Even today Tea tree oil as an effective natural product and is used for acne, eczema, skin infections and warts.
